About Madhya Pradesh Economic Association
Madhya Pradesh Economic Association (MPEA) was formed in 1973 with a vision to provide a platform for economists, academicians, researchers, policymakers and students to come forward and exchange views on various issues pertaining to the economy of Madhya Pradesh. The MPEA comprises of members from various universities as well as other educational institutions of the country. The Association provides a platform for discussions, deliberations and interactions on many relevant theoretical and policy-oriented issues of national development and more specifically to the development of Madhya Pradesh.
The main purpose of Madhya Pradesh Economic Association is to organize conferences in different parts of the State. The first Conference of MPEA was held at Bhopal in 1973-74. Till date, MPEA has organized XXVIII Annual Conferences, with its geographical extent stretching to almost all regions of Madhya Pradesh.
The next two day XXX Annual Conference of Madhya Pradesh Economic Association shall be hosted by School of Economics, Devi Ahilya University, Indore during first week of March 2020. Prof. Kanhaiya Ahuja is the Local Organizing Secretary for this conference.
To encourage the researchers, the MPEA also publishes a Journal namely “The Journal of Madhya Pradesh Economic Association”, which is the outcome of the research papers presented and discussed at the Annual Conference. It is also proposed by the Association to publish this Journal biannually. We are also glad to share with all our members that, MPEA will soon come out with an E-version of its journal.
